Oh my gosh, things I am SO loving right now: New York Color Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Retro Red!! September 2, 2015

You guys!

I think we are all aware that I have developed kind of a problem with red lipstick.  I am addicted to it.  And we  know about my self imposed $5 per week lipstick budget.  I keep  a running list (usually about 3-4 deep) of what my upcoming purchases will be.  There are a few that I really want that are a bit more than my $5 max, so I may have to save up for those for awhile…

ANYWAY

I was at Wal-Mart this morning getting diapers, and, as it happens, next on my purchase list is NYX in Snow White, which is super vampy, and I totally excited, because its kind of a departure for me from the reds I have been wearing, which have been more orange-red recently.  I remembered Wal-Mart has some brand that starts with “N” so I decided to see if they had it.  They didn’t.

Wal-Mart doesn’t carry NYX, they carry “NYC Lipcolor.”  And its $0.93.  Ninety. Three. Cents.  Which means you can probably get the money to pay for it out of your couch cushions.  So… I got one, because 93 cents.  There were three reds that I really liked, but I picked one called “Retro Red” because it looked the brightest.

The formula does feel a bit thinner and a bit oilier, I guess, for lack of a better word, than what I am used to.  I guess thats where the "moist lip" part comes in.  It does glide on easily, and was easy to apply, but because it is kind of a soft formula, it does not create a "sharp" lip line.  Liner, of course, could help with that or maybe even a lip brush.  You can see the rough edges in this picture:

At this point, you're probably like, so what's so great about it?  Well, I will tell you:

I have been wearing it all day. I ate breakfast, I ate lunch, I have been drinking water, I have been eating candy, it is STILL there.  I have a LOT of red lipstick in a lot of different prices points and none of them, not even the MAC or Besame, have the staying power that this stuff does.  It has faded a little, but it is fading evenly, which almost none of them do.   This lipstick is the shiz. I wont lie and say it isn't getting on everything, it is:

But it is also staying on my face.  And I was hard on it.  I purposely ate messily, I made sure I got salad dressing on my lips, because often the fat from the salad dressing eats lipstick.  I licked my lips, ate and drank all kinds of stuff, and ended with a still deep, still even color:

The only downside is the packaging, which is cheap (hello, 93 cents) and seems flimsy and like it would fall apart easily.  The cap is flimsy and the lipstick doesn’t go down into the tube, so its easy to hit with the cap.  Still, for basically a dollar, you cant complain, and did I mention it stays forever??

I just wanted to let you know, because in case you ever want a fun little treat that will put a pep in your step, but no dent in your wallet, this is the lipstick to get.   I cant even find the little cents sign on my keyboard, because why would anything be cents in 2015? But this stuff was 93 cents!  It might be the best one yet!
